IN SUMMARY
Programs funded by the Auxiliary augment the care of patients at Bellevue Hospital by providing enhancements that are not provided by the hospital as part of routine patient care. In many cases these "little extras" can translate into a more caring and supportive hospital experience.
Calendar year 2008 was financially challenging for the Auxiliary, as it was for all charitable organizations. But we have managed to adapt to changing revenue conditions as well as innovate some cost cutting measures to maintain our program support level.
The next year, 2009, looks to be every bit as difficult, but the Auxiliary will strive to continue to carry out our motto of "Keeping the Humanity in Healthcare".
